Most wordpress themes use your blog title at your blog general setting as H1 title tag, and Post title as H2 title tag. I think that’s not SEO friendly.

For example, your site use computer general niche blog title ( example : Computer and SEO ). And you post a content with title ( example : Top and Cheap Antivirus 2009 ). So “Computer and SEO ” will be your H1 title tag and ” Top and Cheap Antivirus 2009 “. That H1 title is not quite right, and I think it’s less SEO friendly.

To make it more SEO friendly title we need turn H1 to title post. With a simple way, change code at your header theme code and it will more SEO.

Step to Change H1 Title to Title Post and More SEO

1. Open your theme Header.php .
2. Found your H1 / title code. Example :
   
   not SEO friendly H1 code

   <h1><a href=”<?php echo get_option(‘home’); ?>/” title=”<?php bloginfo(‘name’); ?>”><?php bloginfo(‘name’); ?></a></h1>
   <div><?php bloginfo(‘description’); ?></div>
3. Change H1 / title code it to :
   
   SEO Friendly H1 code

   <h1 id=”title”><a href=”<?php bloginfo(‘url’); ?>/”><?php bloginfo(‘title’); ?><?php wp_title(); ?></a></h1>
4. Save, and now see your page source and look at H1 title tag.

Now your default H1 title changed to your post title. And this H1 title tag more SEO than before.
